The Ten Commandments is a 1956 Cecil B. DeMille film that dramatizes the biblical story of Moses. The movie is about a Hebrew baby who is adopted into the Egyptian royal household and raised as a prince. Moses (Charlton Heston) grows up to be the favorite of the aging pharaoh and his chosen successor, but when he discovers his origins, he is banished and becomes a slave. After being contacted by God, Moses returns to Egypt to free his people, the Israelites, and lead them to Mount Sinai, where he receives the Ten Commandments
